Allie & Mike's Montrose Beach engagement session

This was a challenging but rewarding photo session for me. Due to scheduling we had to start at 1pm when the sun is overhead and harsh. Most people know the most romantic lighting is low afternoon sun but I wanted the challenge and I think the results came out great. So many couples want genuine and natural portraits and this shoot shows my direction style. I never pose or force a shot. Instead I'll give the couple something to do with each other like the piggyback ride or the tumbler photo further down this page. It doesn't even have to be that active. It could be as simple as asking him to whisper a secret or smell her hair to create some kind of interaction that's all you.
